Just came back from West Mall after watching F.I.R, it was scheduled at 7pm but due to "unforeseen" circumstances, they arrived at 8pm.. The band was cool and it was all worth while standing just to see them and listen to them singing Lydia and Fly Away. Faye was so pretty though it was far from where I stood. Her voice was amazing, no wonder whole shopping mall was crowded with F.I.R fan.
Reaching home to watch channel U show at 9pm. Adam Khoo was the person in focussed... I knew this person few years ago when he came to HongKah to give a talk, I had bought his bestseller I am Gifted So Are You.. Have not touched this book for a long time and after what he had said, I decided to read it up again.
His word really enlightened me... "Learn to say "No" when you have to, do not give in to temptation especially during exams period. You may eventually lose your friends because of your isolation but it does not matter because you will make new friends eventually.
Indeed, for the past 2 years I had given in to temptation and always try to go for any occasion when friends ask me to go because I don't want to lose my friends, but in the end, the fun and party won't bring me results. I really regretted for not studying hard for exams for the past 18 months, who will want EOO for their results.. I guess it is time I say no to people and let them hate me because I want to do well..
Maybe it is not the best way to do but time is running out for me, I have my goals and I want to achieve straight A's for my exams, let all people around me laugh at my ambitious aim, I don't care, I maybe getting F all the way now, but I know that only I myself can change it. I will prove to everyone that I CAN DO IT. So if you want to help me to achieve my aim, I am more than happy, if you just want me to party with you, Sorry, you have come to the wrong person..
If Adam Khoo can do it, so can I. If he can top the whole secondary and JC and become top 1% in NUS, so can I because we all have that special ingredient in us which we must discover how to work with this ingredient in order to make up a delicious dish where no one can make. Reach For The Stars
